Earn Honors Credit
Honors Advanced Academic Literacy is a credit-bearing honors course that develops the analytical reading, writing, quantitative reasoning, and data literacy skills students need for college-level work. Students practice these skills through structured instruction, assignments, and assessments that also prepare them for the SAT and other college readiness benchmarks.
Yes. Students earn 0.5 high school credit with a letter grade and official transcript through Elite Open School, a WASC-accredited high school.
Yes. The course is approved as a UC A-G “g” college-preparatory elective honors course.
Yes. The course develops the same analytical reading, writing, and quantitative reasoning skills measured on the SAT, so students typically improve their SAT performance while building lasting academic skills.
Students strengthen four core competencies:

- Data interpretation and problem solving
The course is ideal for students who want to strengthen their college readiness skills, prepare for the SAT, and earn honors-level academic credit.
The course includes structured instruction, guided practice, regular assessments, and full-length SAT practice tests.
Students must complete coursework and assessments and earn a minimum overall score of 80%.
Many students take the course during the summer before 10th or 11th grade, when they have time to focus on skill development and SAT preparation.
