Hands-On Web App Development
ONLINE COURSE
A practical, hands-on introduction to code development in a Windows or Mac OS environment. Open to students everywhere.
This workshop is designed for students who are curious and serious about studying Computer Science in college. Students will work with working professionals from top tech companies who can teach and mentor. After completion of the workshop, students will receive an official certificate of achievement.

Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of writing code in HTML programming language (knowing Python is beneficial but not necessary)
Modern PC or Mac that can install new Python libraries
Overview
A practical, hands-on introduction to code development in Windows or Mac OS environment
Learn everything you need to know to build a web app from the ground up
Learn best practices with real-world coding tools (Flask framework, Bootstrap, GitHub)
Finish the course with your own website on the public internet
Free web hosting
Deliverables
Personal website with resume information and personal content
Private group chatroom feature that students will code themselves
A final product that will show colleges the student’s passion for computer science as well as a practical application of coding knowledge

BA Computer Science, UC Berkeley. Software Engineer at Google. Previously worked at Amazon and Electronic Arts. Has significant experience working with modern frameworks and the newest trends in web development.
