Extracurricular Program
Data Science in Python


ONLINE COURSE

This project-oriented, learn-by-doing workshop is designed for students who are curious and serious about studying Computer Science in college. Open to students everywhere.

Students will work with professionals from top tech companies (Zoom, Intel) who can teach and mentor. After completion of the workshop, a certificate will be issued.

September 14 – November 16, 2021 • Tuesdays • 6:00–8:00pm


Prerequisites

  • Basic knowledge of writing code in Python programming language

  • Modern PC that can install new Python libraries

Overview

  • Understand the importance of preparing your data for analysis

  • Learn different types of data formats you may encounter and how you should use Python to handle them

  • Data processing and visualization using Python library

Deliverables

  • Students will author their own analysis on a previously taught dataset

  • Not only will this mini-project give students an invaluable hands-on experience that they can count as an extracurricular activity—it will also serve as something they can write about on their college applications
