More About Elite Prep

Refugee Education Project
Founded in January 2018 at the Hope Learning Center in Bogor, Indonesia, Elite Education Group’s Refugee Education Project has set out to bring the flexible, transferrable, accredited education model of Elite Open School—Elite’s micro-school utilizing digital curriculum in blended classroom settings—to refugee children in a region of conflict so that they may secure for themselves a better and more stable future. The program has allowed hundreds of students to achieve English-language proficiency and gain accredited U.S. high school transcripts and diplomas. In the years ahead, Elite will look to HLC as a model for opening EOS campuses in other regions of the world where refugee children find themselves in unpredictable geopolitical settings. Teaching and administrative opportunities are available for Elite Prep instructors who are interested in becoming a part of the Bogor Refugee Education Project.

Elite Community Scholars
The Elite Community Scholars Program partners with local high schools and community organizations to offer college prep programs free of charge, typically to low-income first-generation students who normally wouldn’t have access to Elite’s programs due to an inability to pay. The first ECS projects launched in 2008 at Young Nak Church (Lincoln Heights) and Kidworks (Santa Ana), two organizations that invest in local children to help them become leaders in their communities. ECS seeks to provide resources, information and mentoring to students of all racial and socioeconomic backgrounds so they may be successful in their journey to college and beyond. The program’s vision is to help build an inspired and thriving community of empowered, global citizens. ECS test prep classes and college application workshops are led by Elite Prep instructors. Teacher Testimonials
Over the past 34 years, I have taught in both private and public schools, served as an administrator at both the middle school and high school levels, and worked outside of the education field for Los Angeles County and the Walt Disney Company. With this wide range of experience and perspective, I can state without reservation that my 14 years (and counting) at Elite Educational Institute have been among the most satisfying of my entire career.
Thomas C.Elite Prep Torrance First and foremost, Elite’s curriculum materials are outstanding. They truly are second to none; in fact, I can usually identify materials that are not ours because they don’t meet Elite’s rigorous standards. As a teacher, I can always count on Elite’s materials to provide an authentic test-taking experience that prepares them for current and future academic challenges. Another aspect of Elite that continues to impress me after more than 15 years with the company is the quality of the students themselves. Elite students are driven to do their best and are typically high achievers who thrive in the challenging atmosphere Elite Prep provides. All students, no matter their academic achievement, are typically hard working, respectful, and all around a pleasure to teach. Elite’s attention to each individual student sets it apart from other college prep centers. We truly do want each student to succeed and provide challenges to students that are appropriate to their goals and experiences; Elite demands the best each student can give.
Jessica H.Elite Prep Irvine—Newport Beach I’ve been an Elite instructor for nearly 4 years. A few of the best things about teaching for Elite include the flexible hours, the opportunity to work with students from across skill levels and interests, and being able to tailor my teaching to achieve actual, meaningful change in my students’ understanding of class material. At Elite, I’m able to approach subjects in often unorthodox ways to create a lasting impression on my students. The most rewarding part of my job is when I receive emails weeks or months after working with a pupil telling me that they got a 5 on their AP test, or that they were able to move their grade up by a full letter.
Alex H.Elite Prep San Diego—Rancho Bernardo When I started working at Elite, I expected to exclusively be given predetermined lesson plans to follow, but found that I was granted the freedom to design my own lessons and be compensated for prep time. I am able to choose what books to use in my Power English classes, which allows me to feel more connected to my teaching since I choose books that I personally find intriguing and think students will enjoy too.
Another great thing about Elite is the staff. I feel comfortable reaching out to the Branch Director and administrative staff to ask questions, and they are always friendly and helpful. Overall, I am very happy with my employment at Elite!
Joanne C.Elite Prep Irvine—Northwood My favorite thing about teaching at Elite Prep is the support that my fellow teachers and I receive from the administrators and front desk staff. I have been encouraged by my Branch Director to supplement our rigorous SAT curriculum with strategies that I enjoy teaching and that students enjoy learning. I have been privileged to design my own curricula for new, supplementary classes, which has been extremely rewarding. The most rewarding thing, however, is my students. All of my tutoring students are excited to learn and most of my classes are filled with students just as eager.
Steven D.Elite Prep San Jose Elite Prep is very flexible and accommodating to its instructors. The most rewarding part about being an Elite instructor is helping my students understand the schoolwork that they are stuck on, as well as preparing them by teaching them advanced topics. I love how in addition to being very motivated and always eager to learn, my students are also understanding and empathetic. Once you become an Elite instructor, it is important to continue to hone your craft and improve your mastery by reviewing the subject materials for which you tutor, so you can continue to deliver the highest quality instruction to your students. Elite is very special to me because as an instructor, I feel the freedom to do what I do best: teaching and motivating students in a fun and interactive way. I would highly recommend becoming an instructor at Elite. As someone who has worked at other tutoring centers in the past, I have found Elite to be the best!
