Elite Prep helped me in more ways than I can count._** *Calvin Z. – UC Santa Barbara* ## About the ACT Since 2025, the ACT has had three required sections: English (50 questions in 35 minutes), Math (45 questions in 50 minutes), and Reading (36 questions in 40 minutes), for 2 hours and 5 minutes of testing. Science (40 questions in 40 minutes) and Writing (40 minutes) are optional add-ons. The Composite score, from 1 to 36, is the average of the English, Math, and Reading scores; Science and Writing do not count toward it. The ACT is one of the most widely administered college entrance exams in the U.S. When making admissions decisions, colleges and universities consider applicants’ ACT scores in addition to a number of other factors, including GPA, extracurricular activities, personal statements, letters of recommendation, and interviews. The ACT is offered seven times each year in September, October, December, February, April, June, and July. Students of all ages are eligible to take the ACT. Many students take the ACT in their junior year and often retake it in the fall of their senior year. ## About Elite ACT Prep While the ACT is meant to measure what you learn in high school, the test itself can trip up even the best students.
